Diet should include a heavy breakfast, lunch and dinner apart from three other small meals. The meals should be separated by about 3 hours.

Consuming more of red meats, chicken, fruit, milk, vegetables, cheese and assorted nuts is the best solution to gaining weight. Eating 4-6 pieces of fresh fruit a day is also another way to gain weight.

Apart from that, four to five glasses of milk are a must as milk is a high protein source.

Also consider exercise to help with gaining weight

Eating right is one of the most important requirement for gaining weight. However, if a proper diet is not accompanied by the necessary exercise, then the weight gained will be in the form of fat and not muscle. Exercising helps convert the consumed nutrition into muscle and prevents the formation of excessive fat.

An intensive workout should be performed at least three times a week. Those who are interested in gaining weight should focus on exercises such as squats, dead lifts, bent-over rows, chin-ups and bench press.
